He used to be a foreman of sanitation at the Cudahy packing company in Omaha. He is a 49 year old, male of negro ancestry. The interview is taking place in the home of Mr. Goodlett on November 16, 1938. He is being interviewed by Fred D. Dixon. Mr. Goodlett's education was limited to the sixth grade. He attended night school to the eight grade in Omaha but never graduated. He worked at the Cudahy packing company for ten years. Mr. Goodlett is a member of the St. John A. Church.

I chose this picture because it depicts the way life was during The Great Depression. It shows how many people lived in poverty. As you can see in the picture, there were about eight people or more living in one small house. Their house wasn't built with a lot of support. You can see the roof has just a thin layer that covers the top to protect The inside from rain or snow. The way the people dressed also showed how poor they were. Some of their clothes are worn out or outgrown. They hung their clothes out to dry on their almost broken down porch. Also, you can slightly see that they do not have a proper fence that is built to stay straight up. This picture shows the way life was during The Great Depression in many other ways that I haven't even explained.
